Kay’s Bahamas Checklist
I thought I’d put a handy dandy checklist together for all of you Kayviators that are heading to the Bahamas! Make sure you have all of this:
- Passports
- Cash for Bahamas Customs. Some of the bigger airports take credit cards at the FBO and will help you enter. This is a nice convenience but the smaller airport require cash (yes you can use American money). The fees vary depending on where you are and you really need exact change. They won’t make change for you a lot of times.
- Entry/Exit requirements. There is an entire page on this here: Customs and Border Process
- CBP Sticker
- eAPIS filed!
- Aircraft General Declaration
- Bahamas Cruising Permit in triplicate
- Exit from a Customs Airport
- Enter into a Customs Airport
- Sunscreen, take lots of sunscreen!
- Have a blast!
- Coming Home from the Bahamas:
- eAPIS filed and accepted
- Exit the Bahamas from a customs airport (You need to pay an exit fee and have them give you exit paperwork
- Enter the U.S. into a customs airport. Once landed, proceed directly to the customer/border office to clear immigration and customs. Make sure you go directly to the office. Also, you’ll need to take all of your baggage inside with you to be scanned.
That’s it. Head back to the Bahamas Guide:
